General Information Sessions 

This workshop will provide information on the programs and services available through Gezhtoojig Employment and Training.

Accessing Trades/Apprenticeships

This workshop will provide information on what you need to know about apprenticeships and whether apprenticeships are right for you.  Apprenticeships let you earn money while gaining skills, knowledge and work experience.  Apprenticeships lead to excellent career opportunities in high skilled and high demand industries.

Job Search Tips/Marketing Yourself To Employers

This workshop will provide information on marketing yourself to employers.  It will assist you in your job search by providing tips through networking, researching employers, career field and job leads.  It will help you to find out where the jobs are and help you to develop/utilize your network or show you how to make use of everyone you know and who they know.

Effective Resumes/Cover Letters

This workshop will provide information on the different types of resumes or the information required in a cover letter.  You will need a top quality resume and cover letter to showcase your skills and to effectively market yourself.  We also offer one-to-one resume/cover letter assistance to those who require it.  Your resume/cover letter will highlight your strengths and will be saved so that you can access it anytime.

Employment Maintenance

This workshop will introduce the concept of maintaining employment or what you need to do to keep the job you have.  It will look at what to expect for your first day, how to keep your job, discuss attendance, and employer expectations.

Career Decision Making

This one-to-one contact with a job coach will assist you in making an informed career decision.  It will assist you to get to know how to access the necessary information, and promote how to make it happen according to your specific requirements.  It will help you understand the decision making process to develop your individual plan in making a great career decision.

Interview Tips/Mock Interviews

This workshop is designed to provide information on how to prepare for an interview, presenting yourself, and how to answer typical and difficult interview questions.  By being prepared you will lower your stress and feel more confident.  Also we can offer one-to-one simulated interview situations and provide feedback on your strengths and what you may need to work on.

Essential Skills

This workshop will discuss the essential skills you need to enter, stay in, and progress in the world of work.  These personal attributes and competencies are required in a workplace today and to lead a successful life.  With increased awareness, each individual’s essential skills can be built and strengthened.
